I went out to start my 1985 Kawasaki GPZ900r and when it kicked over it went clink and wouldn''t start? The noise seems to have come from the right side. I''m thinking it''s the Cam Chain?

It ran the day before yesterday. It ran good. Lot's of power still left in her. It has 4600 kilometers ( roughly 30,000 miles I'd say )..
Idled very well no smoke out of the exhaust or any other abnormal noises.

Check that battery is fully charged, and if it is, go directly to the starter relay. The clicking you are hearing may just be a lose or dirty connection between the relay and the starter.
If your starter is not getting 12 volts with the starter button depressed your relay is bad.
Good Luck..Chris

Ok sounds good .. I was just out checking and seems like rain on the way so had to shut er down..lol
I noticed when I took off the side panel to follow the wire down. there is another wire covered in some sort of canvas cover and had a wire that was not attached. it seems like it was never peeled back as there is no bare wire exposed. So I will look at it tomorrow after work and if your suggestion works I will come back on and some how put more feedback on for ya..
